If you are experiencing a mental health crisis and don't feel you can keep yourself safe right now, seek immediate help:

  • Go to your nearest Accident & Emergency (A&E) department.
  • Call 999 - If you are concerned about an immediate risk of self harm or your physical health is at a significant risk because of overdose or injury, it may be necessary to call 999 for an ambulance.

If you need urgent support but don't want to go to A&E, you could:

  • Contact your GP surgery or out of hours GP service and ask for an emergency appointment
  • Call Samaritans on freephone 116 123 – they're always open and are there to listen
  • Call the CALM helpline on 0800 58 58 58 (between 5pm and midnight)
  • Contact NHS 111
  • If you are under Mersey Care's mental health services, get in touch with your care co-ordinator, the person who looks after your care or the person from the team that you normally see. Their number will be in your recovery plan.
